Food poisoning doesn't go well with anything, but it's a particularly bad match with performing. This was not the funnest Doveman show for me.
I think I'm going to go see Yo-Yo Ma at Carnegie Hall, playing Bach cello suites, more out of curiosity than any feeling that it will actually be all that good (I have a memory of finding his recording of the suites extremely flat and far too smooth).
I'm kind of obsessed with tasting Nonino's new Gioiello distillates (here's a little bit about one of them). They're distilled from honey. They have different ones made from different kinds of honey (only two available in the States so far, and a little painfully expensive, at around $90/bottle in the only places I've seen them). I just want to taste them once before buying. Anyone know a bar or restaurant in NYC that serves them?
