We're taking a brief break from the road in Amarillo, TX, currently in a Starbucks that, strangely, has free internet.
So sunrise over the Grand Canyon is really impressive.
But it doesn't really hold a candle to sunrise over Old Faithful. That shit is off the hook.
Upon our arrival, we'll be playing Tonic on the 27th, the last show of our tour. New York peoples: Please come! Not for us, we'll be playing again plenty soon, but David Thomas Broughton is really truly extraordinary, I'm still thrilled by his set having heard it nearly every night for the last three weeks. And he's unlikely to be coming back this way anytime soon.
I'll also be playing piano with Miho Hatori at the Stone on the 28th, and at Tonic on July 1.
I'm midway through my second shift of driving. A very productive break from driving (from the Grand Canyon on). Read Amelie Nothomb's "Book of Proper Names," and the first 70 pages of my beloved "Ada," as intoxicating as ever.
Time for a bit of Cold Stone Creamery and then back on the road, yo.
